JAMB CBT Centres in Nigeria 2026: Full List by State and How to Find Yours

Every year, JAMB runs the UTME through Computer-Based Test centres scattered all over the country. If you're sitting the 2026 exam, knowing your JAMB CBT centre early can save you plenty of stress. This guide gives you the full list of centres by state, shows you how to check the one assigned to you, tells you exactly what to carry on exam day, and walks you through moving to a different centre if the one you got is too far.

A lot of candidates lose marks not because they didn't read, but because they showed up late, went to the wrong place, or forgot a document. Let's make sure that isn't you.

Accreditation changes from year to year, so treat this as a strong starting point and always confirm the exact centre JAMB assigns you before you travel. How to Check Your Assigned JAMB CBT Centre

One mistake candidates make is assuming they'll write at the centre closest to home. That isn't always the case. JAMB assigns you a specific place, so check it early. Here's how: Go to the official JAMB website. Open www.jamb.gov.ng. Find the exam centre check link. Look for the "Check JAMB Mock and UTME Exam Centre" option on the homepage. Enter your details. Type in your registration number and any other information it asks for. Submit. Click the button and wait for your centre details to load. Read carefully. Note the centre name, the location, and your exam date and time. Screenshot it. What to Bring on JAMB Exam Day

Get everything ready the night before. Rushing in the morning is how people forget the one thing that matters. Pack these: JAMB registration slip. Print it out. No slip, no exam. Valid ID. A National ID, school ID, or any government-issued means of identification. The right mindset. Arrive calm, not panicking.

Leave phones, bags, wristwatches, calculators, and any paper at home or with someone outside. Centres are strict, and getting caught with a banned item can cost you the whole exam. How to Transfer to Another CBT Centre

Got a centre that's too far or hard to reach? You can ask for a transfer. Here's the process: Visit the nearest JAMB office in your state. Ask for the transfer request form used for changing centres. Fill it in. Put your registration number and a clear reason for the change. Submit the form to the staff at the office. Wait for confirmation. Once it's processed, you'll be told your new centre.

Do this early. Requests made close to the exam date are harder to approve. Frequently Asked Questions What if my JAMB CBT centre is far from home? Request a transfer to a closer location using the steps above. If travel is unavoidable, plan to sleep over near the centre the night before so you don't arrive tired. Can I change my CBT centre after it has been assigned? Yes. Submit a transfer request at your state JAMB office, but do it early because late requests may not go through. What time should I arrive at my CBT centre on exam day? Get there at least one to two hours before your scheduled time. That buffer covers traffic, verification queues, and any surprise delays. What is not allowed in the examination hall? Phones and other electronic devices, bags, calculators, and any unauthorised documents. Anything that looks like it could help you cheat will be seized. What happens if I miss the exam? JAMB does not run makeup exams. If you miss your slot, you'll most likely have to register again for the next year, so treat the date seriously.

Check your centre early, know the route, pack the night before, and show up ahead of time. Do those four things and you've removed the biggest avoidable causes of exam-day trouble. All the best in your 2026 UTME.
